2. Purposes of use

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes.

3. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how this site is used and to measure advertising performance. The information obtained this way does not include anything that directly identifies you, such as your name or address.

For analytics we use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC. It records the pages you view, how long you stay, where you came from, your approximate region, and the type of browser and device you use. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using this site.

The services we use are listed under “6. Processors and transfers outside Japan” below. Anything we add later will be added to that list.

4. Newsletters

We send our newsletter to those who have subscribed, and to those who have made an enquiry or worked with us. To improve what we send, we record whether emails are opened and which links are clicked.

You can unsubscribe at any time, either from the link in each email or through the contact point below. We will stop sending promptly once you tell us.

5. Personal data entrusted to us by clients

In marketing, operations and recruiting work, clients may entrust personal data to us. In that case we act as a processor on the client’s behalf and handle it as follows.

• We do not use it beyond the purposes the client has set
• We do not copy or remove it beyond what the engagement requires
• We do not sub-contract it without the client’s prior consent
• On completion we return or delete it as the client directs
• Where a confidentiality agreement or a separate data processing agreement is in place, that agreement takes precedence

6. Processors and transfers outside Japan

We use external services to run this site and to communicate with you. Where the provider of such a service is located outside Japan, personal information will be stored on servers in that country. Please refer to the information published by each provider regarding the data protection regime of the country concerned and the safeguards that provider has in place.

If we begin using additional services for analytics, advertising measurement or newsletter delivery, we will add the provider and the purpose to this list.

7. Disclosure to third parties

We do not disclose personal information to third parties other than the processors listed above, except where disclosure is required by law.

8. Security measures

• Access to personal information is limited to the founder alone
• All communication with this site is encrypted (HTTPS)
• Credentials for external services are managed appropriately and used only at the level of access the work requires
• We do not copy or remove entrusted information beyond what the work requires

9. Retention periods

• Enquiries: deleted around one year after the matter is closed
• Newsletter recipients: deleted when you ask to unsubscribe
• Engagement records: deleted promptly after the contract ends, once any statutory retention period has passed

10. Access, correction and deletion

If you wish to access, correct, add to, delete, suspend the use of, or stop the provision to third parties of the personal information we hold about you, please contact us below. We will verify your identity and respond promptly in accordance with the law.
